auxiliary language
Shared communication system
An auxiliary language is a language used for communication between groups who don't share a native tongue.
Some auxiliary languages are natural languages adopted for wider use—Latin in medieval Europe, English in international business today.
Others are constructed specifically for this purpose, like Esperanto or Interlingua: Esperanto remains the most successful auxiliary language.
