Juno Beach

D-Day Canadian sector

Juno Beach was one of five designated landing zones during the D-Day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, assigned to Canadian forces.

The beach stretched along the French coast between the British sectors of Gold and Sword.

Canadian troops faced heavy resistance but secured the beachhead by day's end: My grandfather landed at Juno Beach.

Juno Beach is also a town in Florida.
