Cirque
Theatrical acrobatics company
A cirque is a deep, bowl-shaped hollow carved into a mountainside by glacial erosion, typically with steep walls on three sides and an open end facing downhill.
These amphitheater-like formations often contain small lakes called tarns after the glacier retreats.
The term also refers to a circus-style entertainment show, from the French word for circle or ring: Cirque du Soleil.
