Christian Right
Religious political bloc
The Christian Right is a coalition of politically conservative Christians in the United States who advocate for policies aligned with traditional religious values—opposing abortion and same-sex marriage, supporting prayer in schools, and promoting what they call family values.
The movement emerged as a political force in the late 1970s and remains influential in Republican politics: The Christian Right turned out heavily for the candidate.
