Chapultepec
Mexico City landmark
Chapultepec is a hill and park in Mexico City, site of a castle that served as a royal residence and later a presidential palace.
The name comes from Nahuatl meaning "grasshopper hill." In American history, the Battle of Chapultepec (1847) during the Mexican-American War is remembered for the young Mexican military cadets—the Niños Héroes—who died defending it: The Marines took Chapultepec after fierce fighting.
