Belmont Stakes

Triple Crown closer

The Belmont Stakes is a thoroughbred horse race held annually in New York, the third and final leg of American horse racing's Triple Crown.

At a mile and a half, it's the longest of the three races and often called "the Test of the Champion." A horse that has won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes enters Belmont with a chance at the Triple Crown: American Pharoah won the Belmont Stakes to complete the Triple Crown in 2015.
