Triple Crown

Three-race supremacy title

The Triple Crown names specific prestigious achievements requiring three major wins.

In American horse racing, it means winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes in one year.

In baseball, a batter's Triple Crown requires leading the league in batting average, home runs, and RBIs; a pitcher's requires leading in wins, strikeouts, and ERA.

British horse racing has its own Triple Crown with different races.

Only thirteen horses have won the Triple Crown. (Lowercase triple crown is the generic term for any three-part achievement.)
