Athanasius

Athanasius was a fourth-century bishop of Alexandria and theologian, central to early Christian debates over the nature of Christ.

He championed the doctrine that Christ was fully divine—of the same substance as God the Father—against Arianism, which held Christ to be a created being.

His position prevailed at the Council of Nicaea and shaped orthodox Christian theology.

Athanasian describes views aligned with his teaching.
