AT&T

Major wireless carrier

AT&T is an American telecommunications company, one of the largest in the world.

The name derives from American Telephone and Telegraph, the monopoly that once controlled most U.S. phone service.

After antitrust breakup in 1984, AT&T became shorthand for legacy phone infrastructure and later wireless service: I have AT&T for my cell plan.
