1917
Revolution's Russian year
1917 names the year, used as shorthand for events that occurred then—most notably the Russian Revolution, which overthrew the tsarist regime and eventually brought the Bolsheviks to power, and the United States' entry into World War I.
The number appears in titles and references where the year itself carries historical weight: the October Revolution of 1917, America joined the war in 1917.
