woodblock print
Inked relief art
A woodblock print is an image made by carving a design into a block of wood, inking the raised surface, and pressing it onto paper or fabric.
The technique originated in East Asia, where Japanese woodblock prints (ukiyo-e) became especially celebrated.
Western artists also adopted the medium: She collected vintage woodblock prints of Mount Fuji.
