wood putty

Carpenter's hole fixer

Wood putty is a paste used to fill holes, cracks, and imperfections in wood surfaces.

Unlike wood filler, which hardens and can be sanded, wood putty typically remains slightly pliable and is applied after staining or finishing: I used wood putty to hide the nail holes in the trim.

It comes in various colors to match different wood tones.
