wood chop
Axe meets log
A wood chop is a competitive event in which contestants race to cut through logs using axes or saws.
Common at agricultural shows and lumberjack competitions, events include standing block chop, underhand chop, and springboard chop.
The term also names an exercise mimicking the chopping motion: Do three sets of wood chops with a medicine ball.
