whitelists

Approved access roster

Whitelists are lists of approved items—email addresses, websites, applications—that are permitted access or passage while all others are blocked by default.

To whitelist something is to add it to such a list: You'll need to whitelist our domain so our emails don't go to spam.

The term contrasts with blacklist, which blocks specific items while allowing everything else.

Some style guides now prefer "allowlist" to avoid the white/black dichotomy.
