access card
Door-opening badge
An access card is a plastic card that grants entry to a restricted area—a building, parking garage, or secure floor.
The card communicates with a reader through a magnetic stripe, chip, or proximity sensor: She swiped her access card at the door.
Also called a key card or badge.
