western comics
Frontier sequential art
Comics originating from Western countries, particularly the United States and Europe, as distinguished from Japanese manga or other Asian comics traditions.
Western comics typically read left-to-right, often feature full-color printing, and include superhero comics, Franco-Belgian bandes dessinées, and graphic novels: I grew up on western comics like Spider-Man and Tintin.
