well drinks
Cheapest cocktail options
Well drinks are cocktails made with a bar's cheapest house liquor—the bottles kept in the "well," the rack within easy reach below the bar counter.
When you order a rum and Coke or vodka tonic without specifying a brand, you get the well version.
The opposite is a call drink, where you name a specific brand.
