wax paper

Coated food liner

Wax paper is paper that has been coated with a thin layer of wax, making it moisture-resistant and nonstick.

It is commonly used in cooking and baking to wrap food, line pans, or separate layers of baked goods.

Unlike parchment paper, wax paper is not heat-resistant and should not be used in ovens, as the wax coating can melt or catch fire.

I wrapped the sandwiches in wax paper to keep them fresh.
