water vapour
Gaseous form, water
Water vapour is water in gaseous form, invisible and suspended in the air.
It forms when liquid water evaporates or ice sublimates, and condenses back into droplets as clouds, fog, or dew.
Water vapour is distinct from steam, which technically refers to water vapor near its boiling point, though the terms often blur in casual use.
Also spelled water vapor.
