walleyes
Pike-perch with stare
Walleyes is the plural of walleye, a North American freshwater fish prized by anglers for its mild, flaky flesh.
The name comes from the fish's large, glassy eyes, which appear to stare outward.
Walleye also describes eyes that turn outward or show excessive white—the condition opposite of cross-eyed: His walleyes gave him an unsettling gaze.
