volcanologist
Studies molten earth
A volcanologist is a scientist who studies volcanoes—their formation, behavior, eruptions, and associated geological phenomena.
The work combines fieldwork at active volcanic sites with laboratory analysis and monitoring systems: Volcanologists warned that the mountain showed signs of imminent eruption.
