undulant
Rising and falling
Undulant means rising and falling in waves or wavelike motion.
The word describes smooth, continuous fluctuation rather than abrupt change: the undulant hills of the prairie, undulant rhythms in the music.
In medicine, undulant fever is an old name for brucellosis, so called because the patient's temperature rises and falls in waves over weeks.
