under-rotation
Not enough turning
Under-rotation is failing to complete a full rotation in a spinning or flipping movement.
The term appears most often in figure skating and gymnastics, where judges penalize jumps that land short of their intended rotation: She lost points for under-rotation on the triple axel.
The opposite is over-rotation, where the athlete spins too far.
