tree sitting
Canopy occupation activism
Tree sitting is a form of environmental protest where an activist occupies a tree—often for extended periods—to prevent it from being cut down.
The protester typically builds a small platform high in the branches and remains there until the logging threat passes or authorities intervene: She spent two years tree sitting in an old-growth redwood.
