eco-sabotage
Green militant destruction
Eco-sabotage is the deliberate destruction of property or equipment to prevent environmental damage—spiking trees to deter logging, disabling construction machinery at pipeline sites, sinking whaling ships.
The term is used by both practitioners who see it as necessary direct action and critics who call it terrorism.
Also called ecotage or monkeywrenching: The group was accused of eco-sabotage after excavators were found with sugar in their fuel tanks.
