three-bet
Initial reraise action
A three-bet is a re-raise in poker—the third aggressive action in a betting sequence after the initial bet and first raise.
The term comes from fixed-limit games where each raise was called a "bet": He three-bet from the button with pocket jacks.
Three-betting has become central to modern poker strategy, used both for value and as a bluff.
As a verb: She three-bet his open raise.
