four-bet
Third raise preflop
In poker, a four-bet is the third raise in a betting round—a raise over someone else's re-raise.
The sequence runs: initial bet, raise (two-bet), re-raise (three-bet), then four-bet.
Four-betting signals serious strength or a well-timed bluff: He four-bet with pocket aces and got called.
As a verb: She four-bet from the button.
