pot odds

Call calculation math

Pot odds is a poker term for the ratio between the current size of the pot and the cost of a contemplated call.

If the pot contains $100 and you must call $20, your pot odds are 5-to-1.

Players compare pot odds against the probability of completing a winning hand to decide whether calling is mathematically profitable: The pot odds justified chasing the flush draw.
