Handheld counting device
A tally counter is a small handheld device used to count things—people entering a venue, laps around a track, inventory items.
Each press of the button advances the number by one.
The term also applies to digital counting apps that serve the same purpose: The bouncer clicked his tally counter as guests filed in.
