countdown timer
Ticking toward zero
A countdown timer is a device or display that measures time remaining until a specific event, showing decreasing values rather than elapsed time.
Unlike a stopwatch that counts up from zero, a countdown timer starts at a set duration and reaches zero when time expires, often triggering an alarm or signal.
Countdown timers appear everywhere from kitchen appliances to rocket launches to workout apps.
Set the countdown timer for twenty minutes.
