synchronised swimming
Poolside team ballet
Synchronised swimming is an aquatic sport combining swimming, dance, and gymnastics, performed to music by individuals, pairs, or teams who execute choreographed routines in unison.
Competitors are judged on technical precision and artistic impression.
The sport requires exceptional breath control, as much of the routine occurs underwater.
Now officially called artistic swimming.
This is the British spelling; Americans write synchronized.
