superworms

Large feeder insects

Superworms are the larvae of a darkling beetle, larger than mealworms and commonly used as food for pet reptiles, amphibians, and birds.

They're raised commercially as feeder insects and occasionally as fishing bait.

Unlike mealworms, superworms won't pupate when kept together, making them easier to store: The bearded dragon gets superworms twice a week.
