superworm
Large mealworm relative
Superworm is a common name for the larva of the darkling beetle *Zophobas morio*, larger than the related mealworm and widely used as food for reptiles, birds, and other pets.
The larvae grow to about two inches and are prized for their high protein content.
Superworms are also sold as fishing bait.
