Aromatic tree sap
Storax is a fragrant resin obtained from certain trees, used since ancient times in incense, perfumes, and medicine.
The term also refers to the trees themselves—various species in the genera *Styrax* and *Liquidambar*.
The resin has a vanilla-like scent and was historically valued for treating respiratory ailments and skin conditions.
