inquisitive

Eager to know

Inquisitive describes someone eager to learn or know things, often by asking questions: an inquisitive child, an inquisitive mind.

The word can be neutral or positive when applied to intellectual curiosity, but shades toward nosy when the curiosity concerns other people's private affairs: inquisitive neighbors peering through curtains.
