side-eye

Disapproving peripheral look

Side-eye is a sideways glance expressing skepticism, disapproval, or suspicion—looking at someone without fully turning your head, conveying judgment while maintaining plausible deniability: She gave him serious side-eye when he said he'd been at the gym.

The term emerged from Black American vernacular and spread widely through social media.

As a verb: I side-eyed that excuse.
