stander
One who stays
A stander is one who stands—someone present at a location or maintaining an upright position.
The word appears most often in compounds: a bystander watches from nearby, an upstander intervenes rather than remaining passive.
On its own, stander is rare, though it sometimes describes someone who stands rather than sits: I'm a stander at concerts.
