spiked helmet
Pointed military cap
A spiked helmet is a military headgear featuring a metal spike or point projecting from the crown.
The style is most associated with the Prussian *Pickelhaube* worn by German soldiers through World War I, now iconic in depictions of imperial Germany: The spiked helmet became a symbol of German militarism.
Similar designs appeared in other armies of the era.
