skid-marks
Rubber road lines
Skid-marks are the dark rubber streaks left on pavement when tires lose traction—from sudden braking or acceleration.
Police measure skid-marks to reconstruct accidents.
The term also refers, crudely, to fecal stains left in underwear: Check your shorts for skid-marks before you throw them in the laundry.
