single-entry
Basic bookkeeping method
Single-entry describes a bookkeeping system that records each transaction only once, typically as either income or expense in a single account.
It's simpler than double-entry bookkeeping but provides less financial oversight: Small businesses often start with single-entry accounting.
The term also describes forms, contests, or databases allowing only one submission or record per person.
