sickie
Pretend illness day
Sickie is informal British and Australian slang for a day taken off work, typically by feigning illness.
To pull a sickie or throw a sickie is to call in sick when you're not actually unwell, usually to enjoy a day of leisure.
The term can also refer to the person taking such a day, though this use is less common.
It carries a mildly mischievous connotation rather than serious disapproval.
