sentry posts
Stationed guard locations
Sentry posts are stations where guards are positioned to watch and protect an area.
The term applies both to the physical location—a booth, tower, or designated spot—and to the duty assignment itself: The soldier reported to his sentry post at dawn.
Military bases, government buildings, and secure facilities maintain sentry posts at entry points and perimeters.
