self-reflecting

Looking inward thoughtfully

Self-reflecting describes the act or capacity of examining one's own thoughts, feelings, motivations, or actions.

A self-reflecting person engages in introspection, turning attention inward to consider their own nature or behavior: After the argument, she spent the evening self-reflecting on what she could have done differently.

The term also applies in a literal, physical sense to surfaces or materials that reflect back upon themselves, as in certain optical arrangements.
