cogito
I think (Latin)
Cogito is a philosophical term referring to the thinking self or the act of thought as proof of existence.
It comes from Descartes' Latin proposition "cogito, ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am)—the one certainty he found immune to radical doubt.
In philosophy, the cogito often shorthand for this foundational argument or for consciousness itself.
