roosterfish
Striped Pacific catch
A roosterfish is a large game fish of the eastern Pacific, prized by sport fishermen for its fighting ability.
Named for the distinctive dorsal fin that rises like a rooster's comb when the fish is excited or threatened.
Found from Baja California to Peru, roosterfish can exceed 100 pounds: We spent three days chasing roosterfish off the coast of Costa Rica.
