roofying
Slipping sedatives covertly
Roofying is the act of secretly slipping a sedative into someone's drink, typically to incapacitate them for sexual assault or robbery.
The term comes from Rohypnol, a brand of the sedative flunitrazepam notorious as a date-rape drug: She suspected someone had roofied her at the party.
The practice is a serious crime.
