bringing around

Changing someone's mind

Bringing around means causing someone to regain consciousness or to change their opinion.

A paramedic brings around a fainting victim with smelling salts.

In persuasion, you bring someone around to your point of view: It took some effort, but I finally brought her around.

The phrase can also mean simply bringing someone to a location: I'll be bringing the car around in five minutes.
