renationalisation
Returning to government
Renationalisation is the return of privatised industries or assets to government ownership.
The word implies a reversal—something was once nationalised, then privatised, now nationalised again: The Labour manifesto promised renationalisation of the railways.
Common targets include utilities, transport, and healthcare services.
Also spelled renationalization.
