regraft
Attach tissue anew
To regraft is to graft again—reattaching tissue, replanting a cutting, or reconnecting something that was previously joined.
In surgery, skin or tissue that failed to take may be regrafted: The surgeon had to regraft the skin after the first attempt rejected.
In horticulture, a scion may be regrafted onto a different rootstock if the original union fails.
