regrafting
Rejoining severed tissue
Regrafting is grafting again—attaching plant tissue or skin to a site where a previous graft failed or was insufficient.
In horticulture, a fruit tree might need regrafting if the original scion didn't take.
In medicine, burn patients sometimes require regrafting when initial skin grafts don't heal properly: The surgeon recommended regrafting the damaged area.
